NimbleBit flies the flag for Mobage's social clout as Android version of Pocket Planes announced

Given that Tiny Tower was released on Mobage, it's no great surprise the Android version of NimbleBit's next game is also coming to DeNA's platform.

Pocket Planes takes the concept of moving your bitizens around a tower to the next level as you have to shuttle them around the world in planes, building up your small town airport to a international travel hub.

No doubt, it will be a great success, although given that Tiny Tower has now done over 13.5 million downloads (of which between 1 and 5 million were on Android), it's up against some stiff internal competition.

Still, the signs look good given that the art style is the same, as is the attention to detail.

There will be 250 cities, and dozens of types of planes you can customise. Of course, the bitizens also get their share of action as you can tweak them, even down to the level of what the pilots wear.

And neatly making the most of Mobage, you'll also be able to trade plane parts with your friends, which sounds rather like the mechanic NimbleBit first honed its in Pocket Frogs game.

Incidentally, its Android version was powered by Plus+, ngmoco's a pre-acquisition social platform.

As for how the social elements in the iOS version will work, NimbleBit isn't saying. We assume Game Center.

Pocket Planes is due for a summer release on iOS and Android.
