Like a hot katana through butter, the universal appeal of the ninja is enough to slice through the hearts of the even the most stubborn of gamers. These deadly, unseen assassins have provided video game developers with plenty of inspiration over the years, and Ninja Rush continues this noble tradition, albeit with simpler controls and a score-based system which echoes the excellent Canabalt on iPhone.
In Ninja Rush the objective is to make your character run as far as possible before he either falls into a pit, collides with a deadly obstacle or loses all of his hit points after tangling with the many tough-looking samurai warriors that patrol the game.

Your ninja sprints automatically, but you can control his speed by sliding a finger across the screen. Tapping the display causes him to jump, while a second tap executes a double-jump which is handy for clearing large gaps. Another tap will unleash his grappling hook, which can be used at certain points to negotiate seemingly impassable caverns.

Naturally, being a trained assassin, your character is capable of dishing out a bit of punishment. Touching the shuriken icon on the screen lets fly with a throwing star, which is enough to dispatch the aforementioned samurai guards.
