Angry Birds: The mobile "bestseller" in 2010

At the beginning you're only given one type of bird that does nothing more than just headbutting, but throughout the game you'll come across six more birds, each possessing one special power: multiply, explode, accelerate, dropping egg bombs, boomerang, and extra strength. Don't worry, the instructions are pretty clear when you first meet these enhanced kamikaze birds -- most involve just a single tap anywhere to trigger their special abilities mid-flight. Once you get the hang of it, you'll soon be wanting to try out all sorts of trajectories to take vengeance on those cheeky green hogs. Seriously, the pigs really do laugh at you when your birds miss them.

By default you will only be able to see the area where the sling shot is. You do have the ability to zoom in and out and scroll over to see parts of the level that you need to see. From the default view it makes more of a challenge not being able to see the pig’s fortress when you throw the birds. Once you throw a bird the camera will follow it until it lands on the fortress area. If you want to be able to view the entire level at once (sling shot area and pig fortress area) you will need to zoom out. When you are in the default view and throw a bird, it will leave a white cloud like trail to help you aim for your next turn. This helps aiming in this view quite a bit so that you are not throwing the birds without the ability to have a strategy or aim.

Plants vs Zombies

DOWNLOAD PLANTS VS ZOMBIES (FREE, APK)

Use a fusion of flora and firepower to defend your home with zombie-zapping plants!
The game's basic premise is simple; the player is trapped in a house and has to fight off wave after wave of approaching zombies. The zombies come in a variety of forms; some wear buckets and traffic cones to ward off damage, some sprint across the lawn in American football gear, while some float above the lawn using balloons.

If the zombies manage to cross the lawn and enter the house, the player loses. To prevent this, players are given an array flora and fungi offering them both offensive and defensive options – ranging from pea-shooting plants, to immovable rocks to spikes which attack the zombies' feet. At the end of every level, they unlock a new plant and their arsenal of foliage steadily grows. They can also pick up coins from fallen zombies to buy new plants from the in-game shop, which is run by their eccentric neighbour, Crazy Dave.

Could you play games with a phone made from paper?

A prototype flexible smartphone made of electronic paper has been created by Canadian researchers.
The PaperPhone can do all the things bulkier smartphones can do such as make and take calls, send messages, play music or display e-books.
The gadget triggers different functions and features when bent, folded and flexed at its corners or sides.
"Everything is going to look and feel like this within five years," said creator Dr Roel Vertegaal.
The device emerged from a collaboration between researchers at the Human Media Lab at Queen's University, Canada and Arizona State University's Motivational Environments Research group.
"This computer looks, feels and operates like a small sheet of interactive paper," said Dr Vertegaal in a statement. "You interact with it by bending it into a cell phone, flipping the corner to turn pages, or writing on it with a pen."
The millimetres thick prototype is built from the same e-ink technology found in Amazon's Kindle e-book reader and this is bonded to flex sensors and a touchscreen that interprets drawings and text written on it.
The prototype was created in order to investigate how easy it is for people to use bending and flexing to control such a device. The early version is connected to a laptop to interpret and record the ways test subjects flexed it.
Dr Vertegaal predicted that widespread use of larger versions of the PaperPhone might make the paperless office a reality.
The PaperPhone prototype will be on display on 10 May at the Computer Human Interaction conference in Vancouver.
At the same show the research team plan to show off a device they called the Snaplet. This device takes on different functions depending on how it is worn and bent.
The wristband is a watch when convex, a PDA when flat and a phone when concave.

The FREE culture of Android: The 62% of apps and games cost 0$

At the end of April 2011 the Android Market had already featured an impressive number of apps, 295,000. 64% of these apps are free, which is above average for one of the major app stores.

The “free” culture of the Android Market has been one of the main characteristics of the Android ecosystem since its launch. Over the last few months there has been a tendency for publishers to try to shift the balance by submitting more paid apps.
This trend towards paid business models is underlined by an increase in the average selling price of 2% over the last month to reach $3.23 in April.

Gensoid emulator: Play Sega Games

Play the more epic Sega titles, such as Shining Force II or Phantasy Star IV.

Gensoid features the same slick interface and plays just about any Sega Genesis ROM you can get onto your device’s microSD card.

Sound and music are still a bit wonky, resulting in framerate slowdown here and there but most games work just fine and you can turn the sound off in the settings menu, which improves framerate dramatically.

The controls are all customizable which allows you to figure out what’s most comfortable and then lock it in.
The reason you can toggle this on and off is because some older games weren’t compatible with the 6-button setup (such as Golden Axe II).
